LOGOS

The Nike "swoosh". Apple. Some of the most iconic logos are so simple. A logo must quickly communicate the identity of a brand. It also must carry the identity so that it can be quickly recognized.
DESIGN
Everything is designed. Few things are designed well. — Brian Reed
This quote is so true. If you don't believe me try to go a whole day, or even an hour, without finding something designed. Billboards, brochures, menus, packaging, the list goes on and on.
Print is Big
Prior to working on my Masters I had no clue what went into preparing designs and printing them. I have been surprisingly so intrigued by the print business. Learning the different forms of printing processes has made me look at print as a whole new form of art.
This was a project I completed with 2 fellow grad students. We were responsible for creating a brand as well as each product and packaging to complete the brand experience.

Once you learn about packaging design, life as you know it is over. It is everywhere! A simple trip to the grocery store is now overwhelming. After spending a semester abroad admiring beautiful packaging in London, I am determined to create packaging that is visually pleasing and simple.
PHOTOGRAPHY
A picture is worth a thousand words
I can't tell you how many times I've heard this! My family (especially my grandma) has aways been keen on taking pictures. Now, I have the same love! After taking darkroom photography and a digital class I began to photograph all kinds of things, always looking for that interesting angle. During my undergrad work I also used some of my own photographs as well as working with a friend of mine who specializes in photography.
PROCESS

Good design does not fall out of the sky. It is a process. I like to gather inspiration, do sketches, roughs, and then move to comps. The process shown is from a packaging design study abroad in London.
